Announcements
On this page you will find updates, announcements, and additional resources from Mrs. D'Amico's 7th grade classroom.
Here is a look at what we will be accomplishing this week:
Reading: We will read the short story Thank You Ma'am by Langston Hughes as a way to help us explore the narrative concepts of conflict and plot. Students will continue working within their leveled reading groups. Writing: Students will wrap up the PREWRITING phase of their narrative stories as we brainstorm and plan our story conflicts and map out our story plots. Students will begin drafting by Wednesday, and enter into the REVISION phase at the end of the week. We will begin our revisions with our narrative hooks and word choice. Social Studies: We kick off our new unit today: The Beginning of Human Society. This week, our special focus will include a deeper look at how archaeologists study the past, Otzi the Iceman, the power of Oral Traditions, and Timelines. Homework Monday: Complete the My 5 Artifacts Activity and Reflection Questions. (Due Weds) REMINDER: Section Quiz will be held on FRIDAY for both classes. Don't forget to review each night!
